during modeling i was asking myself why number fields a right aligned ? This happens for the label as well for the input field. Contrary strings and other types are left aligned.
You can manually change the alignment (Changing the alignment of the fields) and additional reason to be inconsistent.
For me it felt inconsistent and the UI was also confusing. There might be customer who want it in this way, but there are no known to me.
What are the reasons for this different alignment ? Are others also confused by this fact ? Are there any plans to change it and make it more consistent ?

Right alignment of the value
Number fields have been right-aligned to enable a quick comparison of numerical values. This means that differences (ones, tens, hundreds, etc.) can be recognised immediately.
In Excel, numbers are also displayed right-aligned.
Right alignment of the label
Following the law of proximity, the label has also been right-aligned.
With wide fields, however, this can lead to confusion, as users may suspect an incorrect display or incomplete entries.
I therefore recommend deliberately setting the width of the field via the grid.
- If the label text and the expected value are the same length, the relative field width should be set so that there is not much white space next to the label or the value.
- If there are large differences, the width of the field should be aligned with the longer element.
I am not aware that there is a plan. If it is needed, please write a requirement ticket.
