If I don’t use the new WorkflowsMetadata_DM, the server starts but I get a “A12WF is undefined” error when I try to open a workflows document in the application.
If I use the new WorkflowsMetadata_DM, I get the error that it can’t read my existing documents and the server can’t start.
Do I need to a manual data migration? I assumed that it either migrated automatically like the rest or that it would be caseinsensitive and still work or that the documentation would have a warning that we would need to manual data migrate.
Or is there another way to still use the old workflows metadata?

I believe @peter-smooth-cursor can explain it better, but as far as I know, the new WorkflowsMetadata_DM of release 2024.06 has been aligned to the A12 standard modeling naming convention, so the a12wf 
A12WF, as mentioned in GetA12 Login.
I have not heard of a migration provided by Workflows, so I assume you have to implement your own DS migration task.

We apologize again for the inconvenience.
We will provide a migration step for this breaking change in 2024.06-ext.2.
(Also, we backported the migration to 2024.06 (as version 11.0.1) and to 2024.06-ext.1 (as version 11.2.21) which are available now.)
UPDATE: There was an issue with the migration which has been fixed in 11.0.2 and 11.2.22.
This way, projects can integrate it without having to switch to another ext version.
We hope that this enables a feasible migration path.

A fix is already in progress and will be released as soon as possible.

Workflows version 11.2.23 is released which includes the Workflows metadata migration and fixes. Tested and worked on the Project Template.

This is also fixed in 2024.06-ext2 and in WF version 11.0.2 (special patch for 2024.06) so that projects do not need to migrate to another ext release first.
