Could we please clarify what style this board is going to take?
What I’m missing is a place to find answers for questions I have when using A12 components. So for me a Q&A like usage would make much more sense.
However we probably can’t have both usages here at the same time, because answers to questions would get burried below tons of discussion comments that one would have to go through.

I agree and would also prefer the stack-overflow style, which allows to put emphasis on agreed-upon best answers while keeping partial/lower quality answers or simple remarks out of sight

The configuration of this instance Discourse is following stackoverflow style. If you see any functions which is important for the community but it doesn’t have then please raise it.
At the moment, users can vote for one topic/discussion but they can not vote for comments/answers. They can use the like-button (the heart icon), but this has no effect on the order of comments, so late but good answers get lost at the bottom
I would suggest to use the Q&A plugin to allow voting for comments and shows the best answers on top:
