How to host the preview of a ui model on a different server?

I have created a ui model based on a data model and would like to host it somewhere (preferably in cosmos kubernetes environment) to make it accessible to others to discuss and gather feedback.

How can I host the preview generated by the ui designer on a different server than my local machine?

Hi Andreas,

this is currently not supported.

I’m not sure about your target group and your specific use case, but you could:

  1. Make sure everyone is having an UI Designer installed. This should be very simple with the new installer. Afterwards everyone can open the model files you would like to share locally.
  2. Or you could setup your own demo application with the platform server as backend. Afterwards you can use the upload feature of the UI Designer.

Our use case was that there was a meeting with the customer 2 days ahead with one person from IT and another person from marketing and we just wanted to prepare a form so that we would be able to show something to the customer as a basis for further discussion. In the end we used the bap and also implemented additional features around the form. But using the BAP carries some overhead in setting up also application model. The installer wasn’t available yet and I haven’t had any experience in how easy this becomes with the new BAP control.
