Does A12 support simultaneous modification?

Hi,
In my project, different user can work and modify the same document at the same time. Does A12 supports that? I’m using A12 2023.06.ext3

Hey @nguyen-sharp-drift, thanks for your question.
In general: working in parallel within the same document is possible and can be achieved, but therefore you should also consider functionalities in terms of conflict handling/ management to prevent and/ or resolve conflicts. Depending on your projects usecase and setup, but the component “data distribution” serves already a quite similar purpose in a productive setting.

Just as a side note: From a modeling perspective we advice NOT working on the same model in parallel. A12 doesn’t provide an out of the box functionality to support this until now.

Hello. At the moment A12 does not provide locking so 2 users can work on same document but the one, who saves it last “wins” and his changes are saved.

There is A12 requirement for locking, but it is still not planned. A12-12804

hi @nico-round-kernel , do you know if Data Distribution supports relationship document? I could not find that from getA12. Thanks!

Hey @nguyen-sharp-drift, currently relationship documents are not supported by DD. But @volker-vivid-granite told me, that there are a bunch of alternatives available in this context.
Feel free to involve him here in case of further questions, since he’s also in charge of DD from platform perspective :slight_smile:
