Is it possible to show or hide a screen depending on the value of a field from another screen?

According to the documentation, see here, you can only show/hide sections or control grids using a dependent control.
As far as I’m aware, the screen would still exist, even if all sections and control grids on that screen were hidden, and the user would still be able to navigate to this blank screen.
I don’t know of a modeling workaround for this problem so I believe that some development work would be involved.
