We have an application that is using cms with a few content models. These content models can be edited at runtime by some users.

When updating from 2025.06-ext2 to 2025.06-ext4 we need to update the content models in order for them to be rendered by content engine. We need to keep edits to content that were made at runtime earlier on during this process.

How can those models be migrated during a dataservices init job run?

The basic idea is to follow a 3-step process in a new migration step executed within dataservices init:

- export content models as json to the file system
- run the content-model-migration cli tool (see [Get A12 docs Content Model Migration CLI usage](https://geta12.com/#/docs/2025.06/ext4/content_engine/contentengine-dev-docs%23_cli_usage))
- reimport the migrated content models

Since the content model migration is a nodejs application nodejs needs to be added to the dataservices init image as well.
